That, as compensation for these losses, Members

of the Civil Service domiciled in gold-using countries

have been granted compensation by the Government, while

Your Petitioners who suffer equally from the low value

of the dollar have not been allowed any relief.

5.

Your Petitioners therefore humbly pray that they

may be granted equal rights in the matter of exchange

compensation as officers domiciled in a gold-using coun-

-try, or such other relief as to you may seem meet.

And Your Petitioners will ever pray.
